At the ripe age of 14, after my fast pitch team won the Canadians, I flew to Kentucky to participate in the World Series.
My “tournament team” as it was known, consisted of mostly 15 year olds and a handful of 14 year olds who vied for a spot on the team through “drafting” and try-outs. While abroad we played against other teams from the Netherlands, Philippines and the United States. While we didn’t end up winning, it was a unique experience to have at such a young age. In addition to playing ball, we also visited the Louisville Slugger Museum (where my man Ken Griffey Jr. was highlighted) and Six Flags.
I’m currently in the process of gathering photos from the trip as most of them were prints rather than digital.
